Biography

Pop/rock singer/songwriter Neara Russell was raised by artistic parents in rural Wisconsin, where she was an award-winning pianist and vocalist by age 10. After writing her first song at age 12, she knew that composing was her passion and devoted her energy to original works, producing her own concerts and studio recordings while working as an accompanist, nature researcher, and cookie baker to fund her musical projects.

Following her performance on the National Public Radio show "From the Top," Neara accepted a full-ride Presidential Scholarship to Berklee College of Music, graduating with a degree in Composition and Piano/

Voice Performance.

As an innovative pop songwriter, Neara has earned ASCAPLUS Awards and an invitation to the exclusive ASCAP Lester Sill Workshop for advanced songwriters. As a hired keyboardist/background vocalist, she has performed on X Factor, The View and Access Hollywood.

Neara is currently working in Los Angeles as an independent vocalist/keyboardist and songwriter. Her original studio recordings "Noise and Silence" (2011) and "Food for the Gods" (2006) can be found on Pandora Radio, iTunes, and CD Baby.
