ABOUT

Neara Russell is a songwriter, producer, music director, and vocalist/keyboardist based in Los Angeles, CA. 

As songwriter/producer, Neara’s original song “Winner Won’t Stop” can be heard in the feature film Feel the Beat (Netflix). She produced and co-wrote the title track for Monogem's 100% EP, as heard in the Traffik (Codeblack Films) trailer and Black Lightning (CW). She has released three albums of original music, both in art-pop and contemporary classical genres.

As music director, Neara has worked on American Idol (ABC) as Associate Music Director and has built live shows for Aly & AJ, Meghan Trainor, Tai Verdes, Skylar Grey, and Bonnie McKee. Touring credits include: Skylar Grey, Hayley Kiyoko, Brynn Elliott, Alina Baraz, Greyson Chance, Betty Who, and Bridgit Mendler. 

As pianist, she can be heard on the soundtrack of Purple Hearts (Netflix). She has also worked as keyboard coach for television shows School of Rock (Nickelodeon) and Julie and the Phantoms (Netflix) and recently as vocal coach for Erin & Aaron (Nickelodeon).

Neara was born and raised in Spring Green, Wisconsin and is a graduate of Berklee College of Music on Presidential Scholarship. She holds a B.M. in Music Composition and Piano/Voice Performance.
